Welcome

Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance is a significant part of St Julie’s High School’s provision, helping students make personal decisions and choices about their future career plans and next steps. CEIAG is delivered to all students through a variety of methods during their time at St Julie’s, via curriculum and super curricular activities and opportunities.

Young people need appropriate guidance to enable them to aim high and achieve. St Julie’s Catholic High School aims to help all students fulfill their potential and experience success through a sound moral and educational environment which responds to individual need and which stimulates and challenges each and every student. We strive to provide students with the knowledge and understanding they require to make informed decisions and choices about their future; and enable them to develop the necessary skills of reflection and action planning, enabling them to manage their next steps.

St Julie’s Catholic High School’s careers programme is tracked against the Gatsby Benchmarks and SEND Gatsby Benchmarks  through COMPASS. Quantitative and qualitative data is collected on the impact of the programme and feeds into an annual COMPASS review of provision. We have well-established relationships with FE colleges, universities, local employers, Careers Connect, CEC, MPloy, Elevate EBP, Be-More apprenticeships, TPM , The Learning Foundry and The Apprenticeship Hub. We aim to:

  • provide comprehensive, unbiased and up to date information, advice and guidance to learners
  • support aspiration, progression and respond to the needs of each learner
  • challenge stereotypes and promote equality of opportunity

The delivery of the careers programme is through PSHE lessons; assemblies, external visitors such as employers, alumni, guest speakers and curriculum opportunities; Careers Advisor meetings; super curricular and virtual opportunities. A number of events, integrated into our careers programme, offer providers an opportunity to come into school to speak to pupils and/or their parents/carers.

We measure the impact of our careers programme using Compass Plus, Pupil and Parent Voice and regular discussion with staff. If any employers would like to support delivery of CEIAG at St Julie’s High School, please contact us.
