Unilever R&D in Port Sunlight are advertising for level 6 (degree level) apprentices for a September 2022 start date.

All schemes are 4-5 years with 20% off the job training (1 day per week) and face to face residentials at University.

The schemes are:

Laboratory Sciences (Chemistry Based)

Degree via Manchester Metropolitan University; Students will be placed in a working project team from day 1 and will have the opportunity to experience different areas (which could be scientific research; product development; consumer insights) and across different groups working on brands such as Tresemme; Dove; Domestos; Persil and Comfort

Chemical Engineering

Degree via Chester University; Students work in a processing team and will have the opportunity to work across different brands and also within supply chain (utilising the factory site across the road from the R&D site)

Data Science

Degree via York St John University; Students will work across digital groups and within other areas working with large digital data sets as part of the Unilever digital transformation programme, also with the opportunity to work in the Material Innovation Centre (MIF) which is a shared facility with Liverpool University

Packaging Professional

Degree (engineering) via Sheffield Hallam; Students will work fully in packaging groups but across different products – looking at new and sustainable packaging solutions for both homecare and personal care as well as working in the new Advanced Manufacturing Centre
